This first stage is about great tastes with beaches and spectacular marine national parks
Day One Cycle Nelson to Mapua, enjoying coastal wetlands, stopping at wineries, berry fields cheese-makers, Hoglunds famous art glass studio, lunch restaurants and other attractions along the way.
Stop if you fancy for a refreshing swim at Rabbit Island’s beautiful white sand beach. Cross on the Mapua ferry from Rabbit island. B&B Accommodation in the charming seaside township of Mapua for 1 night.
Day 2 Cycle Mapua to Kaiteriteri enjoying stunning coastal views, from the ridgeline as well as the coastal sections of trail.
Cycle through orchards, kiwifruit, hops, olive groves, lunch at NZ’s oldest pub or one of several wonderful cafes, be tempted by the art, stop at award winning wineries
Accommodation for 1night at a beautifully situated eco B&B set in the bush.
Day 3 Choose whether to chill on golden beaches, kayak off the beach or take a cruise into the Abel Tasman national park and kayak and/or walk on the Abel Tasman track (optional extra), relaxe at your resort or if you must cycle, take the opportunity to cycle to Marahau then step out on the beautiful Abel Tasman track for several hours.
