2 days 2 nights: Ebikes and TASMAN’S GREAT TASTE TRAIL

You will be based in Nelson in spacious accommodation at Nelson’s beautiful Tahuna beach and make 2 day trips from there

Day One -Taste Mapua (One day tour Nelson to Mapua)- self-guided

Hop on Tasman’s Great Taste Trail at Nelson Airport; enjoy a leisurely 26 km cycle through the coastal wetlands to Mapua (about 2 hours excluding stops) Grade1 easy. On the way visit award winning wineries, cafes, restaurants, cheese shop, visit an art glass blowing studio, perhaps spot some of the estuary’s myriad of migratory and native birds. Cross from Rabbit Island on the cycle ferry to Mapua. You will be transported back to your accommodation in Nelson. Grade 1 and 2

Day Two – Spooners Tunnel (One day tour Spooners Tunnel to Nelson)- self-guided

Nelson Cycle Hire will pick you up from your accommodation and transport you to the far end of the Spooners Tunnel (the longest disused rail tunnel in the southern hemisphere). Cycle back on the Great Taste Trail through the tunnel (headlamps provided) and enjoy a mighty 10 km downhill blast. You can enjoy a great pie at Wakefield’s famous bakery, visit wineries for tastings and finish up for a beer tasting (and pizza) at the Eddy Line. After your exhilarating downhill section the remainder of the trail back to Nelson is flat and easy. Grade 2 and 3
